In today's class the students went over their summative assessments from units 4, 5, 6a, 6b, and 7. Tomorrow, the students should have their assesements from units 8, 9a, 9b, and 10.

The link below should be used to guide the students revision process. It should be used in addition to:
-reading class notes
-doing the workpackages
-checking online websites
-using the textbook website
-redoing all summative assessments

Students should be making best use of their Math class time and come prepared to ask questions and seek out answers.

Be advised that all of your notebook activities should have been completed during the year. If you feel some material is missing, see me for advice. In addition, the maps you were given for review will be on the exam. If you have not completed them do so now. Colored pencils would be a benefit in producing a well-organized map but are not required. Bring two pencils and eraser and sharpener. These are your responsibilites.

Today we reviewed for the final exam. On the exam you will be writing a five-paragraph essay on the unit question, "Where is nature's place?" You will need to know how to write a complete thesis statement (remember, "subject + opinion"). You will also need to know how to use quotations in your writing. Lastly, you will of course need to review how to write a complete paragraph with a topic sentence, supporting details, and a concluding sentence. Make sure that when you plan your essay, your three body paragraphs all connect back to your thesis statement! You will be given a blank outline on the final exam, which I recommend you use, but will not affect your grade. • Your previous levels’ work.
• To read texts related to unit 3 (shopping ) and unit 4 ( What I like to do )
• So be able to derive and conclude information even if you do not understand the whole text.
• You are not expected to understand every single word in each text you read.
• You should be able to write 90-100 words on the two themes.
• You should be able to speak for 2 minutes about the two themes.
• You should know the vocabulary words in each text of the two themes..

• You should know the following grammatical points:

 All previous grammatical points you have covered in earlier levels.
 Prepositions.
 Present tense verbs.
 Masculine and feminine pronouns and verbs
 Plural and singular of given words.
 Question words.
 Given adjectives.
 Connecting words.

Use your time wisely.

Humanities - Walker - Blocks E, G, and H

Today we got a firsthand account of life in the Roman Empire. Our movie showed us all of our research topics, and more. It helped us review and synthesize the information we had been given in all the presentations. Plus, it was fun!

Next week, we will continue our review with mapping and, time allowing, even create our own final exams! (kind of)

Homework: continue your studies. Bring your review guide to class, along with all your normal materials.

Today we completed all presentations and our note-taking on daily life in the Roman Empire. Tomorrow we will get a 1st-person perspective of just what living in Roman times was like, with connections to ALL of our research topics (if you know what to look for!). This will help us with our Roman kid's diary writing activity. Next week we will continue our final exam review, with mapping practice and the ability to create your OWN final exam! (kind of)

Homework: bring your REVIEW GUIDE to class, as well as all regular materials (Journal, workbook, etc.) AND your presentation notes.
